Welcome

    To the Class of 2018:

Close your eyes; tap your feet three times – remember your first day as a freshman at Central?  A sleepless night, butterflies in your stomach, and a sense of nervousness as you prepared for your first day of high school. Whew, what a first day!

Open your eyes now.  No, you are not in Oz or Kansas.  However, you are standing and standing tall you are and deservingly so.  The last four years have brought memories, challenges, opportunities, and a sense of what you can expect in the real world.  Nevertheless, we are very proud of each of you for your perseverance, persistence, and determination in not only starting the race, but finishing it as well.

As you travel the yellow brick road, each one of you will encounter challenges, opportunities, and other unwelcomed barriers.  When faced with these tasks, take a deep breath, reach deep within your soul and do the right thing.  As you will come to know and understand, it is easy to do things right, but harder to do the “right” thing.

Central High School, for many years, has been known as a global community.  A place where each and every student is welcomed; a place of diversity where languages and cultures mesh into one; and a place that not only cares but loves each one of you.  As you near your final day as a Central Bobcat, it is my hope that you will continue to strive for excellence, advocate to make a difference, and be kind to one another.

Farewell Bobcats!  I thank you for the opportunity to be part of your high school experience and wish each one of you much success in all of your future endeavors.  It has been my pleasure serving you as your principal.  You will be missed.

    Adios,

    Mr. Biera
