Who we are

Opened in 1999, Cesar Chavez is a large comprehensive highschool in Laveen. Our highly educated and committed staff serves a diversepopulation of students with a wide variety of programs. Our curriculum isaligned to College and Career Readiness Standards and we constantly strive toensure that our students have access to the knowledge and technology necessaryto their success in college, career, and life. We offer outstanding academics, with one of the largest and most successfulAdvanced Placement programs in the district, allowing students to earn collegecredit in nineteen different courses.  Wehave an excellent tutoring program and support the success of our ninth graderswith our Freshman House.  Studentsparticipate in our advisory program daily, allowing them individualized accessto their teachers in the courses where they need the most support. Our AVIDprogram promotes college readiness and teaches strong organization and studyskills.  Our students participate in awide range of sports, clubs, and electives, including excellent programs in thefine arts, the performing arts, and JROTC. A student who is educated at CesarChavez gains a solid foundation in reading, writing, and math, as well as athorough grounding in the technology necessary to succeed in the 21st century.Chavez graduates have gone on to attend such outstanding universities as Yale,Stanford, and MIT. Parents have the opportunity to participate in the AmericanDream Academy and Future Sun Devil Families sponsored through ASU, to learn tohelp their children prepare for a successful college experience. Our graduationrate and college attendance rates are high. We are proud of our students andbelieve that a Cesar Chavez High School education provides endless futureopportunities for success.
