Less than 10 years ago,  Awad Mohamed  and family were making their way from Sudan through Egypt to the United States as refugees.  Soon, Mohamed will be selecting which U.S. military academy to attend.

The Cesar Chavez senior and Battalion Commander of the school's JROTC  has been accepted to the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD., West Point just accepted him to the U.S. Army Academy prep school, and he still may hear from the Air Force Academy.  

He was nominated by two U.S. congressmen, Representative  Ed Pastor  and Senator  Jon Kyl .

"Hopefully, I will make a decision in the next month, or so.  I think my heart is with the Naval Academy now.    I have visited it a couple of times, both in a summer seminar and during a candidate weekend."
