SMHS Announcements February 1st - 5th Softball conditioning has begun. Join us at the softball field from 4 - 5 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Be sure to get your physicals, insurance and a guardian or parent to watch the video. Get cleared as soon as possible in the Athletics office.
The Wilderness Club is planning its annual trip to Kartchner Caverns. We're going in early February. The cave tour we will take is fantastic! The spots for this trip fill fast so come to the meetings and reserve your spot. The Wilderness Club meets every Tuesday in room M-134 at 7:30 sharp. Be on time please. The club is open to all students and staff. Get involved with your school, have some fun, and meet some great people!
Yoga is today from 3 - 4:45 pm upstairs in the PE building. Please be on time and bring a yoga mat. If you have an 8th hour, join us after.
Upward Bound students, there will be lunch meetings this Thursday for both lunches in Pod 68. Also, we will have tutoring from 3 - 5:30 pm on Thursday in the IMC.
Didn't donate blood in November? Feeling guilty? Worry not - the second blood drive of the year is coming soon! Tomorrow, Wednesday, will be the date when you can become a hero and donate blood. For more information and/or to sign up to donate, visit Mrs. Sanderson in room M205.
Attention Faculty, Staff, and Students - We are asking you to bring in items to donate to the relief efforts of the Haiti earthquake. Items needed are: clothes, shoes, cleaning supplies, bedding, baby clothes, diapers, bottles, blankets, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and anything else you wish to donate for the Haitian earthquake victims. All items can be dropped off in following teacher rooms: MS. Giunta, Mrs. Kunes, Ms. Miles, Ms. Harris, Mr. Kunes, Ms. Beck, Mrs. Lindley, Ms. Benedict, and in the Copy Center. Items will be accepted until Thursday, Feb 4th. Jaguars, let's show our support in helping the victims of this horrible tragedy.
Attention faculty, staff and students. Your very own Jaguar Step Team will be competing in the annual Boost Mobil Step Competition in Pasadena, California. The plan is to bring that championship trophy home. With that in mind, Step Team members will have a mandatory practice everyday until the competition.
The Aerospace department brings you some unusual news - an independent movie called "The Flyboys" will start showing on February 26 at Harkins Superstition Springs 25. If you watch the move, save your ticket and turn it in to the Flight Club. The organizers will donate $1 for each ticket stub to our flight club. AIMS is fast approaching…be prepared! Tutoring will now be available on the following Saturdays from 8 - 11 a.m. - February 6th, 20th, 27th, March 20th and April 3rd. Sign up in the IMC if you are interested. Don't forget that there is also tutoring available Monday thru Thursday from 7:00-7:30 a.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m. See Mr. Brunkala, Ms. Kober, Mr. Miller, Ms. Munson, Mr. Fischer or Mr. Kocian if you are interested.
