North High has a long history of academic excellence and became an IB World School in 1985. The IB Program has produced over 200 National Merit Finalist and Commended students and has been named a “top” high school by Newsweek and U.S. News and World Report.
Students at North have many opportunities to achieve a well-rounded education, including participating in Student Government, MAP (Mustang Achievement Program), Pathway to Success, Achievement via Individual Determination (AVID), Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), culinary, visual and performing arts, JROTC, and a full, competitive sports program at the freshman, junior varsity and varsity levels.
North is a safe environment, both on campus and in the surrounding community. The campus is beautiful, clean, well-maintained, and has a college-like ambience. North has culturally and socially diverse students and staff; the atmosphere at North goes beyond tolerance to acceptance and appreciation. Students and staff alike contribute to an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere, while maintaining the primary focus of student achievement with a wide array of educational experiences.
The mission at North is to empower all students to be global citizens while they pursue success. Students can start investing in their future NOW by enrolling at North High School!
In keeping with our commitment to providing a safe school environment and working collaboratively with the communities we serve, we have adopted new policies, regulations and procedures regarding visitors to our schools or to PUHSD-sponsored events held off of PUHSD premises.
Governing Board Policies KFA (Public Conduct on School Property) and KI and Administrative Regulations KI-RA (Visitors to Schools) and KI-RB (Procedures for Visitors Communication or Access Restrictions) describe the conduct the PUHSD requires of a visitor. These requirements are intended to ensure students, employees, and visitors are safe and a visitor does not interfere with the school’s administrative, educational, and operational programs. Copies of KFA, KI, KI-RA, and KI-RB can be found by following this link: www.phoenixunion.org/visitorpolicy
If you have any questions about the policies, regulations or procedures, please contact Dr. Gabriel Trujillo at the Phoenix Union District office at (602) 764-1548.
