Principal's Summit Focuses on Leadership

Phoenix Union Principals gathered at Grand Canyon University for the inaugural Principal's Summit, June 13-14.  The Summit focused on building leadership capacity, collaboration and vision for school improvement.

The first day of the summit, PUHSD Leaders heard from nationally recognized teacher, principal, researcher and author, Dr. Anthony Muhammad.  Principals had completed a book study during their Principals' Professional Learning Community (PLC) last year of Dr. Muhammad's book, Transforming School Culture.

The second day of the Summit focused on putting Dr. Muhammad's theory into practice.  Principals worked in teams, completing needs assessments on culture and collaboration and defined areas of focus for the upcoming school year.
